Description
‘Karpick’ Red Maple has a dense and narrow form that becomes oval with age for use in landscapes where space is a premium. Compared to other upright or pyramidal varieties such as ‘Bowhall’, it has denser branching, much finer texture, and distinctive red branch tips. Red flowers in the spring, and the fall color ranges from intense yellows to reds. A male selection named to honor Frank E. Karpick, the former City Forester of Buffalo, New York. Grows best in moist and acidic soils.
